Steven Novella is primarily known for his blog Neurologica, dealing with various science and skepticism related subjects. He is also the Author of Weird Science, a monthly column featured in the New Haven Advocate, and the Associate Editor of the Scientific Review of Alternative Medicine and a contributing editor of Quackwatch, a consumer advocacy website dealing with all types of health fraud.
Bob Novella is Steven's brother and is a co-founder and Vice-President of the New England Skeptical Society. He has written numerous articles that are widely published in the skeptical literature and has a special interest in physics and astronomy, their abuse by pseudoscientists, and methods of self-deception.
Evan Bernstein is the Chairman of the Connecticut Chapter of the New England Skeptical Society. He is the author of the skeptical cartoon, Arnies World. He is the NESS technical consultant for investigations.
Jay Novella is another of Steven's brothers and is a skeptical satirist who lends his unique wry perspective to the show on the wacky and weird.
Rebecca Watson joined the panel of skeptics in March of 2006 . She is the creator of the Skepchick Calendar and also writes her own skeptical blog Memoirs of a Skepchick.
James Randi is a well-known magician and supporter of scientific skepticism, with a reputation as a challenger of paranormal claims and pseudoscience. He is the founder of the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF).
Perry DeAngelis was a co-founder and Executive Director of the New England Skeptical Society. He lectured on conspiracy theories and modern day witch hunts. The show continues after his death in August 2007, resulting from his long battle with a number of chronic illnesses.
In September of 2006 the NESS formally associated with the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) to produce the Skeptics' Guide. Beginning with episode #61, September 20 2006 James Randi contributes a 5 minute commentary to each episode.
