The Invisible Pink Unicorn (BBHHH) is a parody of other deities and the logical arguments used to prove their existence. The IPU also functions as a parody of unfalsifiable hypotheses in general.

[edit] Origins

Mankind first came to know of the Invisible Pink Unicorn (blessed be Her Holy Hooves) in a usenet discussion on alt.atheism.

[edit] Traits

According to the alt.atheism FAQ:

Like most Goddesses, she's invisible and highly unlikely to exist. However, there is much argument as to her exact colour, her shape and size, and other properties of her nonexistence. She burns with anger against theists, and allegedly grinds them beneath her holy hooves.

Some websites devoted to the IPU have assigned other traits to the IPU, according to their argumentative purposes. Some posit a single IPU, while others, a race of IPUs. These creatures may be creators of the universe, guardians of mankind, etc.

According to IPU folklore, the Invisible Pink Unicorn is said to be so perfect color - so perfect, in fact, that she satisfies all aesthetic tastes and preferences. To deny her of this perfection would be denying the IPU herself.

[edit] Proof of Existence

It is easy to demonstrate that the IPU is invisible: not being invisible, she should be evident to the eye, or at least to modern scientific instruments. The question of her existence is settled by the abiding faith instilled in the hearts of the believers. But those who have not seen the truth may observe that science has utterly failed to disprove the existence of the IPU.

[edit] Apparent Contradictions

Opponents of the IPU faith claim that it is impossible for anything to be both invisible and pink at the same time. IPU apologists are quick to point out, however, that her pinkness can only be seen by those with the faith to see it.
