[edit] Definition

The overwhelming consensus of the medical community is that AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is cause by a group of viruses collectively known as HIV (Human Immuno-deficiency Virus). However, there is a small but vocal minority of scientists who have questioned this. Their claim is that HIV is a harmless virus, and that various other factors are responsible for AIDS. (Typically the blame is placed on lifestyle choices, such as drug use.) One of the leading proponents of this idea is Peter Duesberg.
