Acupuncture points
From SkepticWiki
[edit] Definition
In acupuncture, the acupuncture points are the points on the meridians of the body in which the practitioner of acupuncture should insert the needles in order to adjust the flow of chi around the body. Even many proponents of acupuncture dispute the importance of inserting needles at specific locations on the boyd. As recent research has showed "Sham" acupunture, in which needles are inserted in random locations or do not penetrate the skin at all, has the same effects as traditional point-specific acupuncture, more acupuncturists are discarding the notion that specific points for applying the technique are necessary.
